Joseph Marshall McWethy (78) departed this life on 7/14/2015 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC. If you are reading this in the newspaper, you will know that I have changed my address having moved to the Heavenly Father's house. Obviously, I have written this prior to my departure from this world. My physical birth took place on November 8, 1936 in Union Kentucky to Kirtley Jackson and Dora Mae McWethy. My spiritual birth took place when I believed on and received the son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Savior at the age of nine, and the Spirit of God called me to Christian ministry at age sixteen. There were three other children in our family, Hazel Lee (Gene), Alice Faye Bashore (Frank), and Charles Ray McWethy. At age seventeen, I departed Union, Kentucky and came to Winston-Salem, North Carolina to attend Piedmont Bible College. It was in Winston-Salem that I met and married Marjorie Gail Fulp who has been my wonderful wife and help mate through the years. We were married in June of 1960 and began ministry together in July of that same year. For forty-seven years we were ministering in six different churches in High Point, Winston Salem, and the surrounding area. We have sought together to lift up the Lord Jesus Christ so that others could know Him and grow in His grace and knowledge. God blessed us with two children, Joseph Alan McWethy and Paula Anette McWethy Smith (Brad), and one precious granddaughter, Tara Ashley Smith. His promise is that He will never cast those out who come to Him, receiving Him as their Lord and Savior. I am so glad that Jesus loves me and that He has given to me eternal life. Now I have gone to my eternal home and my just reward. Please remember that the wages of our sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 6:23) This is the last opportunity that I will have to encourage you to put your faith and trust in Him. Please do this, so that we can spend eternity together. I will look forward to seeing you on the other side. My funeral arrangements are as follows... A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 17, 2015 at Oak View Baptist Church in High Point with Rev. Steve Smith and Dr. Billy Martin officiating. My family will receive friends from 12:00-1:45 PM prior to the service at the church. Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Bible Broadcasting Network (BBN) P.O. Box 7300 Charlotte, NC 28241-7300 and/or Oak View Baptist Church 810 Oakview Road High Point, NC 27265.
