Mr. Joseph Herman, 82, formerly of 400 Cocker Hill Road, Binghamton, NY 13904, passed away Tuesday, August 5th at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born in Broom County, NY on February 7, 1926 to the late Frank and Anna Herman. Mr. Herman proudly served during WWII in the 7th Army 101st and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Herman retired from G.A.F. with 45 years of service and was a handy man of all trades. His hobbies included working on clocks, automotive body repair and building radio control airplanes. In addition to his parents, Mr. Herman was preceded in death by three brothers, Will, George, and Jim; and two sisters, Anna and Betty. Surviving are his daughter, Deborah H. Hunter; son, Bruce J. Herman and wife, Elayna of Port Crane, NY; grandson, Joseph F. Herman of Binghamton, NY; brother, Frank Herman; sister, Rose Costello; and a special friend and caregiver, Loretta Howell. A Celebration of Life will be held from 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday, August 10th at the home of Deborah H. Hunter, 105 Blake Drive, King, NC 27021.
