Joseph Coy J.C." Gray

KERNERSVILLE-Joseph Coy ""J.C."" Gray, 77, passed away Thursday, July 09, 2009 at his home. He was born September 16, 1931 in Guilford Co. to the late Joseph Crews and Lena Bull Gray. J.C. was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, and retired from Standard Trucking Co. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Stigall Gray; and one sister, Etta Lee Gray Hawkins. Surviving are one son, Richard Lee Gray; two daughters, Cheryl G. Gravley (Dennis); Susan G. Gravley (Darrell) all of Kernersville; one granddaughter, Amber Gravley; one grandson, Ryan Gravley; one sister, Pearl Elizabeth Gray McGee of Kernersville; two nephews, Gerald W. McGee of Greensboro, and Joe Ray Hawkins of Taylorsville. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with the Rev. Paul Dean and the Rev. Phil Kirkman officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Wesleyan Church Cemetery in Colfax. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday, July 10, 2009 at the funeral home.
