Joseph Joey Wayne Chucci

Joseph ""Joey"" Wayne Chucci, 38, of Winston-Salem, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2010 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born on July 8, 1972 in Newport News, VA. Joseph is survived by his loving parents, John Joseph Chucci, Jr. and Jill Black Chucci; a brother John Grafton Chucci ,whom he dearly loved; and his God sent brother Gary Eugene Ellis, his wife, Tonya and their children, Grayson and Addison. Joseph was a graduate of Dalford Aircraft Mechanic College and Guilford Technical Community College. He worked as an Aircraft Inspector for Pace Airlines. He shared his love with many during his short time in this world, volunteering as an EMT with the Forsyth County Rescue Squad, coaching soccer, and working with the youth of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. Joseph enjoyed motorsports and became a member of the Fishel Racing Team which competes in the Whelin Southern Modified NASCAR Series. He was a proud member of the 44 race team, which he considered family. Joseph loved life and lived it to the very fullest and treasured each moment he was given. He lived his life by the words ""You are not promised tomorrow so make the best of what you have today."" The family would like to say thank you to all his special friends and family members who have been there to help him through his four year battle with cancer. A funeral service will be conducted 4:00 pm Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6pm -8pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorials may be made, in honor of the life of Joseph Wayne Chucci, to Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, Steeple Fund , 4265 Ebert Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
