Jonathan Michael McKnight, 30, went to be with his Lord and Savior unexpectedly on Friday, July 29, 2022 at his home. He was born in Forsyth County on January 3, 1992 to Mike and Laura Mock McKnight who survive along with his brother, Jack McKnight; also surviving are his maternal grandmother, Ruth Pope Mock; aunt, Michelle Myers (Roger) and uncle, Danny McKnight (Jennifer). Preceding him in death were maternal grandfather, Floyd Mock and his paternal grandparents, Donald Ray and Katherine Hege McKnight.
Jonathan graduated from Reagan High School where he was part of the inaugural Varsity basketball program for four years. Jonathan went on to graduate from UNC- Chapel Hill with a BS in Exercise and Sports Science. He was a devoted son and was thankful for his family and their love and support. The family enjoyed spending time together at Cherry Grove, SC and in High Meadows, NC. Together they spent time biking, skiing, and hunting. Jonathan was a very loyal and compassionate friend. He succeeded in the family business and excelled in customer service. Jonathan’s family rests in the knowledge that their suffering is not in vain. Jonathan’s hope was in His Lord and Savior and his eternal home with Him.
A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, August 7, 2022 at Center Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Corts officiating. A private family graveside will follow the service. The sanctuary will be open one hour prior to the service for fellowship, however there will be no formal family visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to www.give.cru.org to North Carolina State University or checks may be payable to Cru with “2284542” in the memo line and mailed to 100 Sunport Lane, Orlando FL 32862.
