Jon Wilson Brown, 52, of Winston-Salem, NC, son of the late Ralph A. Brown and Evelyn B. Brown died suddenly January 9, 2013. An avid outdoorsman, botanist, mountain camper, and restorer of antiques, Jon graduated from Appalachian State University with a master's degree in Biology. He was a kind, loving person who enjoyed cooking for others, bursting into song, nurturing orchids, and sharing his warm, generous spirit with everyone. He was a water and waste water expert with Iconics, Inc. for 15 years developing software for industry and business, and traveling internationally. He is survived by his partner Robbie King of Winston-Salem, a sister, Sallie Brown Bozard and husband Charlton, nephew Andrew Bozard, niece Sara Beth Bass, husband David, and daughter Caroline. He is also survived by a sister Vickie Brown Caldwell, husband David, nieces, Anna Edwards, husband William, daughter Stella, Erin C. Vaughan and Loren C. Caldwell, husband Jeremy and two daughters Madelyn and Evangeline. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, at Ardmore Baptist Church with Rev. Christa Warise officiating.
