Johnsia B. Clark

Mrs. Johnsia B. Clark of Winston-Salem died Thursday, July 22, 2010. She was born in Watauga County to the late John H. and Addie Brinkley. She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Clark and son, John Ray Clark, Jr. Mrs. Clark graduated from Cove Creek High School, Sugar Grove and attended Draughan Business College, Knoxville, TN. She retired from First Union National Bank in 1994 after 32 years of service. She was a member of Griffith Baptist Church. Johnsia would like to be remembered, not for achievements, but for her love of God, family and friends. Surviving is her daughter, Linda Murphy; grandson, John R. Murphy, Jr.; granddaughter, Hollin Drane and son-in-law, Russ Drane; and special friends, Nell and Bill Baker. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 24 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Tony Brown and the Rev. Mike Willard officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Fallston Baptist Church Cemetery in Fallston, NC. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216 or Griffith Baptist Church, 1987 Ardmore Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
