Johnny Gabriel Bumgardner, Jr.

Mr. Johnny Gabriel Bumgardner, Jr., 53, of Walnut Cove died Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born June 2, 1959 in Winston-Salem to Johnny Gabriel Bumgardner, Sr. and Jane Adams Bumgardner. He was a truck driver his entire life and enjoyed horseback riding. He was preceded in death by his father and his beloved horse, Princess. Survivors include his mother, Jane Bumgardner Colley of Walkertown; one son, Johnny G. Bumgardner, III of Yadkinville; one daughter, Ashley Bumgardner of Winston-Salem; one grandson, Julian Shushkowski of Winston-Salem; two sisters, Mary Harrell and Sharon Dean and husband, Damey and one brother, Tony Bumgardner all of Walkertown; three nieces, Jennifer Harrell of Greensboro, Amanda Bumgardner of Winston-Salem and Stacey Bumgardner of Stanley, three nephews, Jason Bumgardner of Winston-Salem, Robert Harrell of Walkertown and Damey Dean, Jr. and wife, Lindsey of Midway; and his beloved horse, Sonny. A graveside service will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 PM at Mount Tabor United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway. The family would like to say a special thanks to a special nephew, Robert for taking Johnny to every Dr's appointment and chemo treatment and to Dr. Eugene Paschold and the staff of Piedmont Hematology for their care during this time.
