Mrs. Johnnie Lee Kepley Pope, 97, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 14, 2025, at her home. She was born to the late Basher Lee Kepley and Surena Burnette Kepley on March 5, 1928, in Forsyth County.

Johnnie was a graduate of Griffith High School and sang in the Glee Club. She was a strong believer in the Moravian faith. Johnnie married the love of her life, the late Samuel Blaine Pope on March 27, 1948, and became a homemaker. She enjoyed: fishing, arrowhead and rock collecting, creating and collecting recipes, gardening, jokes, making seashell art and writing poems. Her huge book of poems consisted of stories about family, pets and friends, and anything about life. During her last years, she enjoyed drawing leaves, flowers and butterflies.

Johnnie is survived by her loving children, Arnold Wayne Pope (Linda), Donna Marie Pope, and Michael Blaine Pope (Kim); five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to friends and neighbors, to the staff at Arcadia Family Practice and to the staff at Bayada Hospice Care for their help, kindness and prayers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BAYADA Hospice Care.
