Johnnie Wilson Johnson

Mr. Johnnie Wilson Johnson passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Village Care of King. He was born December 30, 1915 in Alexander County, NC to the late Julius Franklin Johnson and Mary White Johnson. Mr. Johnson retired from R. J. Reynolds with 30 years of service. He was a faithful member of Middle Cross Baptist Church, where he served as an honorary Deacon. He read the Holy Bible in its entirety seven times and was working on the eighth. Mr. Johnson was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed watching his sons race and was their #1 fan. Mr. Johnson was a wonderful provider to his family and will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby ""Ruth"" Boles Johnson; one daughter, Mary Arrowood; four grandchildren; and all of his siblings. Surviving are four children: Ann Slate of King, Johnnie Johnson (Doris Lawson) of Tobaccoville, Jimmy Johnson (Judy) of Walkertown, and Kelly Tuttle (Kevin) of King; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren, and twelve great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted 5:00 p.m. Thursday, May 14 at Middle Cross Baptist Church with Pastor Gene Lawson officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial will be at Crestview Memorial Park 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 15. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
