Mrs. Johnnie Jean Poindexter Curry, 87, of Winston-Salem passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022, at her residence. Mrs. Curry was born in Yadkin County on July 1, 1935. Jean loved the simple things in life, she enjoyed quilting, watching birds and being around her friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Delane Curry; mother, Sallie “Opal” Poindexter; brother, James M. Poindexter. Jean is survived by her children, Cathy Woitineck (Fred), Dennis Curry (Suki) and Jacqueline Kraft (Ted); grandsons, Chris Curry, Justin Kraft, Joey Kraft and Nick Kraft. A Private graveside service will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, October 6, 2022, with Chaplin Tom Gramley officiating. Mrs. Curry’s casket will Lie in State 9:00 am to 6:00 PM Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Hayworth-Miller, Silas Creek Chapel. The family wishes to thank those who faithfully called and visited.
