John Fletcher George, Sr.

John Fletcher George, Sr. was the son of the late Aubrey and Effie George of Winston-Salem, NC. He was married for 68 years to Barbara Perdue George, the love of his life.

He is survived by his loving wife; children, Joan Joyce (Dale), John George, Jr. (Dianne), and Donna Newhouse (Joe) of Winston-Salem; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Also sur­viving are his sisters, Virginia (Jenny) Grubbs of Walkertown and Judy Hullette (Gene) of Winston-Salem.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Faith Church. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for contributions to be made to Faith Church (1078 Gumtree Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27107) and/or Community Home Care & Hospice (1308 Da­vie Ave., Statesville, NC 28677).
