John Woodard

Kernersville- John Alan Woodard, 72, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family.

John was born to the late Marvin and Dorothy Woodard in Ft. Benning, GA on January 11, 1951. He was a graduate of Oak Ridge Military Academy and Winston Salem State University. He also proudly served his country in Vietnam. He was an employee of the Veterans Administration Regional Office in Winston- Salem. He was a faithful member of Union Cross Moravian Church.

John is survived by his wife of 53 years, Cindy S. Woodard, who is the love of his life. His three children, Eric Woodard, Bethie (Charles) Roberts and Rodd (Heather) Woodard as well as three grandchildren, John Gray, Roddy and Ryleigh Woodard who he loved with all his heart. His brother Marvin (Marie) Woodard Jr.

The family will have a private service at Union Cross Moravian Church’s columbarium.

Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
