John Wallace, Jr.

Mr. John D. Wallace, Jr., 73 of Yadkinville, passed away Monday, October 10, 2022 at his home.  He was born in Oak Ridge, TN on August 27, 1949 to the late John D. Wallace, Sr. and Margaret Mabrey Wallace.  Mr. Wallace moved to NC when he was very young and lived for a time in the Yadkin County area, before finally residing in Forsyth County on Polo Rd.  He graduated in 1968 from North Forsyth High School.  He worked as a mechanic for Piedmont Airlines and later for U.S. Airways and retired at the age of 55.  John was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting.  He also liked to work on cars and trucks in his spare time.  Preceding him in death was a sister, Elinor Sue Willis and his beloved grandfather, Mr. Carl Wallace, age 100, from Yadkinville.  Surviving is his loving wife, Brenda Vermillion Wallace, whom he married in 1973; daughter, Jennifer Lee Wallace; also surviving are his two cats, “Shadow” and “Squashie.”  He will be greatly missed by his wife and daughter, who loved him dearly.  Their will be no formal services.  The family would like to thank all his caregivers at the SECU Hospice Home in Yadkinville.
