Winston-Salem Mr. John Wiley Stewart, 76, passed away Monday, January 19, 2015 at Springwood Care Center. He was born June 10, 1938 in Forsyth County to the late John Foster and Maxine Pitts Stewart. John retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. with 32 years of service. He had a passion for airplanes and going to air shows. John was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend and when you saw him he always had a smile to share. He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church where he sang in the choir, greeted at the door, cooked, and was a part of the Frank Hinson Bible Fellowship Class. Preceding him in death was a son, James Wiley Stewart. Surviving is his loving wife of 56 years, Pat Stewart of the home; son, Jeff Stewart; 3 grandchildren, John, Kate, and Chandler; brother, Terry Stewart of Clemmons; several nieces and nephews; an aunt and uncle; also surviving are special friends, Clyde and Joyce Long, Becky Reavis, Wayne Raker, and Clyde and Pat George. A funeral service will be held 12:00 Noon Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Gary Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:30-12:00 prior to the service at the church.
