John Plummer Southern

WINSTON SALEM- John Plummer Southern, 84, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born August 8, 1930 in Forsyth Co. to the late Robert Gray and Claudia Lillian Tillotson Southern.

Mr. Southern was a member of Hiatt United Methodist Church. He retired from Camel City Cleaners after many years of service. John loved the outdoors and was an avid camper.

Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Violet Stewart Southern of the home; daughter, Toyce Southern; sister, Mary Frances ""Myrt"" Southern Gilchrist; three nephews; one niece; and his best buddy, ""Zero Southern"" his beloved dog.

The family has requested that no meals be brought to the home.
