John Douglas Shields, Jr.

Mr. John Douglas Shields, Jr. 80 of Mocksville, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016 at his home. He was born January 14, 1936 in Forsyth County to the late J.D. Shields, Sr. and Chattie Livengood Shields. Mr. Shields was a member of Clemmons Moravian Church and had served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Peddycord Shields of the home; one son, John Douglas Shields, III and Mr. Shields favorite daughter-in-law, Patricia of Clemmons; eight grandchildren, John IV, Michelle, Josh, Kelly, Koby, Krystal, Cassie and Bobby; 16 great grandchildren and four siblings, Pat Hege (Curt, Sr.), Herbert Shields (Virginia), Jean Wilson and Joe Shields. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, June 13, 2016 at Clemmons Moravian Church Graveyard by Rev. Ray Burke.
