John 'J.D. Rockett

Mr. John ""J.D."" Davis Rockett, 62, of Mocksville passed away Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born January 23, 1950 in Forsyth Co. to John McDowell and Anna Mae Hutchens Rockett. Mr. Rockett was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting and golf. He loved his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife Sandy Rockett; a daughter, Whitney Rockett Boger and husband John of Mocksville; two grandchildren, Mason Rylan Boger and Paisley Brooke Boger; a sister, Betty Kay Rockett of Pfafftown; a brother, Ronnie Rockett and wife Annette of Lewisville and his faithful companion, Laney. A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with Dr. Gus Thomas and Dr. Cecil R. Cave, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
