John Robertson

Mr. John Charles Robertson, 76, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Pennsylvania on March 15, 1942 the son of the late James Charles Robertson and Mattie Glattli Robertson. Mr. Robertson proudly served our country for 8 years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired as a winemaker from Taylor Winery in Hammondsport, NY with 28 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Seth William Robertson; and a brother, Robert Robertson. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Margaret "Peggy" Robertson; two daughters, Shannen Robertson of Chattanooga, TN and Leigh Anna Robertson of Winston-Salem; a daughter-in-law, Shannon Robertson of New York; three grandchildren, Sean Baldwin, Megan Baldwin and Venessa Lynn Robertson; three sisters, Margaret Herrick, Patricia Chilbert (Richard) and Barbara Jean Foster-Doyle (Andrew) all of NY; a brother, James Robertson of TX; and a sister-in-law, Patricia Robertson of NY. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family. At Mr. Robertson's request there will be no formal services. Memorial donations may be made to: Wounded Warrior Project in Mr. Robertson's honor.
