John Robbins

John Bruce Robbins was born on February 1, 1950 in Forsyth County to Vernon Alexander and Margaret Elizabeth Harper Robbins. He was baptised in First Baptist Church , was member of Advent Moravian for over 30 years and present member of RiverOaks Community Church  in Clemmons.
Bruce graduated from Parkland High School in 1968 and from Forsyth Tech Community College with an Associate Degree in Business Administration in 1970. He joined the Naval Reserve in 1968 and served active duty at the Naval Air Station in Bermuda. He was a corporate credit manager for McLean Trucking company until 1983. He then worked for Young Phillips and NCFI Polyurethane in Mt Airy until retirement in 2015.
Bruce was always the life of the party, funny and witty. He enjoyed coaching Little League and was an occasional golfer.  He especially loved old cars, mostly corvettes. Bruce and Teresa supported all their children and grandchildren in their activities. He loved being Santa Claus and visiting his grandchildren and their friends each Christmas morning for over 15 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Margaret Robbins and his father-in-law Billy F. Long and nephew, Eric Robbins. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Long Robbins of 51 years, his children, Jennifer Fox (Kevin), Jarrett Robbins (Kelly) and Jill Robbins (Jake).  Grandchildren include Brooklyn and Bailey Fox, Davis and Harper Robbins and McKenna Gibby.  He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Donna Sides Long, his brother-in-law Terry W. Long (Susan) and by his brothers Vernon (Judy), Don (Belinda), Richard (Susan) and Robert Robbins. Nieces and nephews include Lisa, Matthew, Donald ,Sarah, Emily and Julie.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, March 27, 2022 at 2:00 pm at River Oaks Community Church in Clemmons, NC. The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm prior to the service. Donations may be made to Elizabeth and Tab Williams Adult Day Center, 231 Melrose Street, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27103 or Well Care Hospice, 5380 US Highway 158, Suite 210A, Advance, N.C. 27006-6974.
