John Allen Reliford

John Allen Reliford, 46 of Walnut Cove, NC formerly of True died Friday June 3, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem following a long illness.

Born January 25, 1970 in Beckley, WV he was the son of George Galen and Rose Marie Hamm Reliford of True, WV.

John was a 1988 graduate of Hinton High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served three tours in Iraq and Kuwait during Operation Desert Storm. John then moved to North Carolina and was employed as a mechanic for Hilco Transport Inc. of Greensboro. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved NASCAR and was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Galen Eugene Reliford and also a sister, Carolee Rose Reliford.

Besides his parents, survivors include his wife, Imelda Q. Reliford; one brother, Michael Reliford of True; nephews, Jamie and Travis Reliford, both of Jumping Branch; great nephew, Travis Reliford, Jr.; great niece, Jaden Meadows; several aunts, uncles and cousins along with two special friends, James Lucas and Ronnie Meadows also survive.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:00 PM, Friday, June 10, 2016 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel.
