Known for his hard work, he worked taking care of golf courses in the area until retiring completely, due to health reasons, at the age of 82.
Johnny and his family were active members of Northwest Baptist Church.
Papa will be remembered for his love of fishing and football. He also loved golf and hunting. He often took overnight fishing trips with friends and relatives, especially his grandsons, to the NC and VA coast for saltwater fishing. Football was always on his TV during the season, and he loved the New England Patriots. He will be remembered for his humor, his stories, and his love for his family- especially his grandchildren. Papa loved babies and watching the little grandkids play.
Johnny desired no formal funeral services, but family and friends will gather in the fellowship hall at Northwest Baptist Church (3605 Edgefield Rd, Greensboro, NC 27409) to honor and remember him on Saturday, October 15th at 2pm. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
