John Paul Nickels

Mr. John Paul Nickels, 51, of Advance, passed away Monday May 16, 2016.

John Paul was born in the Marshall Islands to Dewey Nickels and Virginia Wright Nickels on September 24, 1964. An excellent musician, he played several different instruments and was a guitar player for the bands Kickin' Kountry and the Kitty Hawk Band. He most recently played for Tammie Davis. John Paul will be fondly remembered as a humble, good-natured person, with a big heart and always willing to help others.

John Paul is survived by his daughter, Brittany Nickels; sister, Betty Frogge and husband Arthur; brothers, Marvin Nickels and Steven Nickels; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A celebration of John Paul's life will be held Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 1pm at Friends Baptist Church, 1840 Lewisville-Clemmons Road, Clemmons, NC with Rev. Daron Osborne officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the service at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.
