On Monday, August 15th, our beloved Jack A. Moriarity went to be with the Lord. He is survived by his husband, Scott Hooper; his brother Peter Moriarity; brother Michael, and wife Helen; sister Kathleen Benedetto and husband Luke; as well as being the adored uncle of Melinda, Michael, Joseph, Tylar, Danielle, and Jack. He is predeceased by his parents, John and Elizabeth; sister Lisa; and brother Matthew. After growing up in Wantagh, New York, Jack began working as a National Advertising Travel Sales Executive for Newsday New York. This led him to many places in life, and eventually to Ft. Lauderdale, FL where he worked for the Sun-Sentinel and the Miami Herald. While there, he met Scott, and they eventually relocated to Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Jack then worked for The News and Record and the High Point Enterprise. Recently retired, Jack loved sitting on the deck with a glass of wine, a cigarette; surrounded by his faithful dogs and enjoying conversation with family and friends. He was a social butterfly, never shying away from an opportunity to talk of his Irish roots or favorite pastime of extensively researching the family tree. After 69 years of laughter and friendship, he will be greatly missed among those he knew. The family will be meeting at Hayworth Miller on Silas Creek Parkway at 9:00 am on Friday, August 26, 2022. This will precede the Memorial Service which begins at 10:00 am. Online condolences may be sent to www.hayworth-miller.com.
