John Moore

John Benjamin Moore was born January 5, 1937 to Irby Erston Moore, an honorably discharged Master Sergeant of the United States Air Force, and Sarah Young Moore, a loving mother and southern belle. He is survived by his loving wife, Sue Moore; daughters, Kelly and Tracy; sons, Austin and Jason; sons-in-law, Alan and Jimmy; daughter-in-law, Liezel; and grandchildren, Zach, Josh, Tanner, and Conner. He was a family man who was always thinking of his children, and despite being of modest means, took pleasure in giving gifts to them because he loved seeing them happy. He also loved watching movies, football, and history documentaries, and walking among the trees in his yard with his dogs. He moved to Mount Airy to enjoy a peaceful life near the Blue Ridge Mountains, which he found beautiful, and always took delight in the colors of the autumn leaves and a good winter snow. He is loved and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
