John Bill Mize

Mr. John William ""Bill"" Mize, 74, of Winston-Salem, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at Clemmons Village I. He was born July 2, 1940 in Forsyth County to Walter and Mary Lue Myers Mize. Mr. Mize was of the Baptist faith. He retired from the Winston-Salem Fire Department with 30 years of service. He enjoyed going to the beach and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Lucy Mize; and one brother, Lawrence Mize. Surviving are two brothers, Tony Mize and wife Kaye of Clemmons and Charlie Mize and wife Martha of Alexis; one daughter, Debbie Mize; and one son, John William Mize, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Clint Dousay officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 12:45-1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
