John Mcgee

John Thomas McGee, age 73, passed away on May 14, 2022 at Wake Forest Baptist Health after a short illness.  He was born in Forsyth County on January 10, 1949 to the late William Thomas (Buck) McGee and Elsie Little McGee Morgan.  John graduated from Parkland High School in 1967.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971 and graduated from the U.S. Army Primary Helicopter School.  He also served in the U.S. Navy Reserves for six years.  John was employed as a pilot for Baptist Hospital’s AirCare from 1990-1995.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant twin sisters.  He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Stacy Slater McGee; step-son, Chris Butner (Jennifer), and his sister, Ann McGee Gregory; also surviving are his two nieces, Denise Gregory McGee (Hal) and Lisa Alverson and grand-niece, Anna Alverson Foutz (Justin) and a grand-nephew, Will McGee.  There will be a 2:00 PM graveside service on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Enon Baptist Church located in East Bend, NC.  The family would like to thank the staff at Baptist Hospital for their excellent care and compassion.  Memorials may be made to: America’s Vet Dogs, 371 Middle Country Road, Smithtown, NY 11787 or the charity of your choice.
