Mr. John Norman Manuel, Jr., 80, of Winston-Salem passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born June 15, 1929 in Forsyth County to John Norman and Louise Reeves Manuel. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean conflict. He was a lifelong member of Fairview Moravian Church and was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class. Mr. Manuel retired from AT&T after 42 years of service. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Louise Dodson Manuel; daughter, Terri Manuel Barringer and husband David; son, Jeff Manuel and wife Julie; two grandchildren, Emily Barringer and Carson Manuel; a brother, Bob Manuel and wife Inae; sister, Nancy Manuel. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00PM Friday, April 16, 2010 at Fairview Moravian Church with Rev. Scott Venable officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Moravian Graveyard. The family will receive friends from 12:30PM until 1:45PM Friday at the church. Memorials may be made to Fairview Moravian Church, 6550 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
