John Kinzie

Mr. John Mason Kinzie, age 83 of Clemmons, NC passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023.  He was born in India on May 27, 1939 to Missionaries William Gerhard Kinzie and Pauline Garst Kinzie. Mr. Kinzie’s work career included school teaching, working for Robins Pharmaceuticals as a Biological Chemist, and as a chemist for Etlyl Corporation in Richmond, VA.

John is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Sharon Grant Kinzie, and brother Alexander Kinzie.  Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving wife Joan Robertson Tilley Kinzie, son Brian Kinzie (Beth), Stepsons Jay Tilley (Amy), and Joey Tilley (Ruth). Also, 13 grandchildren, Evan and Lauren Kinzie, Jamie Tilley, Joshua Tilley, Jacob Benjamin Tilley (Karen), Zachariah Kinzie Tilley, Emma Joy Tilley, Titus Tilley, Ezra Tilley, and Sophie Tilley, Amanda Elizabeth Tilley, Preston Yates Tilley, Alyssa Grace Tilley; 2 great grandchildren, Aria and Athena Tilley. He is also survived by 3 siblings: Bill Kinzie, Mike Kinzie, and Mary Kinzie as well as many other relatives and friends.

John served his Lord, his family, and his friends well. He truly had a servant's heart. Well done true and faithful servant. We will forever miss his sweet spirit.

A memorial service will be held at Old Town Baptist Church, with visitation starting at 10:00am and service starting at 11:00am on Friday March 31, 2023.
