John Frederick Kiger

Mr. John Frederick Kiger, 49, of Clemmons passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born June 25, 1961 in Forsyth County to John Henry and Anne Kurtz Kiger. Mr. Kiger was a teacher assistant at Clemmons Elementary School. He was a member of Pinedale Christian Church. For 39 years he played the trombone with the Christ Moravian Church Band for the Easter Sunrise Service at Old Salem. He was preceded in death by his father. Surviving are his wife of 15 years, Karon Nelson Kiger; two children, Ashlie Kiger and Caleb Kiger; his mother; one sister, Sue Anne Gillespie; three nieces, Alice Gillespie, Maria Gillespie and Jordan Nelson; and two nephews, Joshua and Jacob Nelson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 20 at Pinedale Christian Church with Pastor Danny Spainhour and Pastor Shon Earhart officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 19 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 312 N. Eugene St., Suite D, Greensboro, NC 27401. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
