Mr. John Wayne Hodges, Sr., 65, of Winston-Salem, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born October 4, 1944 in Forsyth County to John Edward Hodges, Jr. and Evelyn Styers Hodges. Mr. Hodges was preceded in death by his father. Surviving are his wife, Rebecca Childress Hodges of the home; his mother, Evelyn Styers Hodges; two sons, John W. Hodges, Jr. and Christopher Ray Hodges (Carey), both of Winston-Salem; six grandchildren, Josh Hodges, Tyler Hodges, Savannah Hodges, Joey Hodges, Trevor Hodges and Trey Hodges; two sisters, Robbie Lynn Marbaker and Bonnie Kay Clark, both of Winston-Salem and one brother, Ronnie Edward Hodges of Winston-Salem and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Jerry Nelson and Rev. Richard Payne officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and at other times at Mr. Hodges' home.
