Mr. John Evan Hauser, 92, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born on October 5, 1921 in Forsyth County to Pinkney Evan Hauser and Sallie Doub Hauser. Mr. Hauser served in the Air Force during WWII. He retired from the Post Office as a clerk and was an active member of Becks Baptist Church for over 55 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Clarke Hauser and David Hauser. Surviving is his wife of 70 years, Wilma F. Hauser of the home; Daughter, Nancy (Tim) Brown; sons, Norris (Sandy) Hauser and Hugh Hauser all of Pfafftown; five grandchildren, Carrie (Arthur) Merschat, Wiley (Christina) Brown, Paul (Margie) Hauser, Terry (Angie) Hauser, Rachel Hauser; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Thelma Myers; brother, Rev. Joe (Velma) Hauser. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Becks Baptist Church with Dr. Karl Minor officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to Becks Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 5505 Becks Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
