John Harper, Jr.

Kernersville – Mr. John Mitchell Harper, Jr., 79, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born January 4, 1941 in Vincennes, IN to the late Dorothy Hensley and John Mitchell Harper, Sr. John was an artist who loved to paint and woodworking. He was very creative and loved decorative building. John was also a great cook and was a loving father to more than just his own children. All his children’s friends would call him “Dad” and at times would wake up to many kids in his home and cook them all breakfast. He had a heart of gold and was such a jokester. John was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his loving wife, Pamela Harper.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Renee Harper; his son, Bryan Harper (Bridgette), his granddaughter, Dalani Harper; his brother, Joe Harper; his sister, Mary Ann Wolefert; and many special nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the Harper family.
