John Allen Hardy

John Allen Hardy, 49 passed away September 18, 2013 after a short battle with cancer. He was born April 10, 1964 to Gene and Gladys Hardy, who have predeceased him. He was employed at Hanes Brands for 20 years and was loved by all his fellow co-workers.. John was loving brother, uncle, and friend to all. He enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling, and spending time watching his niece, Ansleigh playing sports. He was an avid Tarheel fan that he supported whole heartedly. He was known for his kind spirit and willing to give to others through his volunteer work with Meals on Wheels. He never knew a stranger and always had a sense of humor like no other. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Carolyn, Doris, and Melita. Left to cherish the wonderful memories of John are his life time best friend and supporter, Teddy Reid. He is survived by two brothers, Mike and Don Hardy. Also, a very special niece whom he loved with all of his heart, Ansleigh Reid and her parents, Stacy and Trisha Reid and a very dear friend, Teresa Jones. Flowers will be accepted along with donations to Senior Services to assist with Meals on Wheels 2895 Shorefair Dr, Winston-Salem, NC 27105. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2013, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Pastor Brian Poindexter officiating.
