John Gillespie

Mr. John William “Bill” Gillespie, 92, of Clemmons, passed away Monday, April 12, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born September 27, 1928 in Forsyth County to John Early Gillespie and Laura Ellen Riggs Gillespie. Mr. Gillespie was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Eldorado. Bill was a former member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and later joined Center Grove Baptist Church in 1997. He retired from Piedmont Airlines with 32 years of service. Bill was preceded in death by his two wives, Edwina Gillespie and Faye Gillespie and two sisters, Clara Williams and Frances Sink. Surviving are his son, Stephen Gillespie; two nieces, Cheryl Williams and Nancy Williams and one nephew, Mike Sink.  The family will have a private family service at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Mr. Rusty Goff and Rev.
