John Morris Gibson

Mr. John Morris Gibson, 57, of Winston-Salem passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012 at his home. Mr. Gibson was born in Lima, Ohio on October 2, 1955 to Roy Leonard and Martha Rose Morris Gibson. He attended Grace Baptist Temple and was employed with U.S. Security Associates for many years. He loved watching movies with his grandchildren and loved fishing. Mr. Gibson was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Wilson Gibson; a daughter, Michelle Pollock and husband Tom of Winston-Salem; two sons, Chris Piner and wife Billie and Michael Piner and wife Brandi, all of Winston-Salem; his mother, Martha Rose Morris Gibson of Indiana; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Sally Gray (Glenn) of Pennsylvania, and Martha G. Runion of Indiana; and two brothers, Roy L. Gibson, III (Oki) of Virginia, and Stewart H. Gibson (Laura) of Connecticut. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Grace Baptist Temple with the Rev. Ed Sears officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8pm Monday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Temple, 3305 Peters Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
