GEORGEFF - WINSTON-SALEM Mr. John Roger Delaney Georgeff went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, October 10, 2009. He was born February 22, 1943 in Tazewell, VA to the late John Roger Georgeff and Minnie Swetcoff Georgeff. John raced the #69 car at Bowman Gray in the Limited Sportsman Division nearly 20 years. He also owned University Mini Speedway for 10 years, where he met lots of nice people and good friends. John was a giving, tender and insightful man who adored his children and grandson. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his other accomplishments John was extremely proud of his vegetable gardens and loved to share a good tomato with all of his friends. John leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Faye S. Georgeff of the home; one daughter, Tina Georgeff Goins of Durham; one son, Shane Georgeff and wife, Kimberly and their son, Delaney who was his grandpa's ""Hero"" all of Belews Creek; also, two brothers, Willie Swetcoff and Dwight Georgeff. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 13 at Crestview Memorial Park with the Rev. Doug Anders officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. Monday, October 12 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
