John Frank Freeman

Mr. John F. Freeman, 83, of Winston-Salem passed away Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born November 28, 1927 in Elkin, N.C. to John F. and Irene Benge Freeman. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy and was retired from Hennis Freight Lines. Mr. Freeman was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church for 58 years and enjoyed gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorena Freeman and a son, Randall Freeman. Surviving are three sons, Charles Freeman, Steve Freeman and Gordon Freeman; two daughters, Betsy Freeman and Lynn Freeman; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and a brother Howard E. Freeman. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM, Tuesday at Oaklawn Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Haley officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
