John Wayne Foster, Sr.

Johnny Wayne Foster ""Dad, ""Paw-Paw"",""Square Deal"", ""Dump"", ""Cat"", age 65, of Lake Norman passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House after a 2 ½ year battle with lung cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clara Mae and Gilmer along with one sister, Gilda. Johnny is survived by a proud and loving family, including his wife of 47 years, Gaynell, a son, Wayne and wife Linda, two daughters; Angie and husband Earl, Michelle and husband Hal. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Kirsten, Hunter, Josh, Haleigh, Jesse, Michala and Ryleigh, and two sisters, Maretha and Ava. He is a member of Rehobeth United Methodist Church and recently completed the Stevens Ministry. He was also a member of the Advance Masonic Lodge 710. Professionally, he began working at RJ Reynolds and selling cars on the side starting at his home in Fork, NC, continuing into Boger City, NC and settling in Denver, NC. The Family will receive friends from 3:00-7:00 P.M. Saturday, July 5 at the Rehobeth United Methodist Church, Terrell, NC. The Funeral Service will be conducted Sunday, July 6 at 5:00 PM, at the Rehobeth United Methodist Church officiated by Dr. Robert Kerr and Rev. Kip McBride. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in his name to Levine & Dickson Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078 or Rehobeth United Methodist Church, 9297 Sherrills Ford Rd., Terrell, NC 28682.
