John Charles Davis

Mr. John Charles Davis, 66, of Clemmons, passed away Friday, October 31, 2008 at his home. He was born November 8, 1941 to the late James and Esther Pearce Davis. Mr. Davis served in the United States Marine Corp. from March 3, 1959 - July 31, 1979 with 20 years of service where he served a tour in Vietnam. He was a member of the Marine Corp. League, American Legion, VFW, and the Real Estate Association. He retired from Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Hickory Tree and Welcome Home Real Estate Offices. Preceding him in death were his parents and grandparents, Charles and Ida Pearce. John has gone home to join his precious granddaughter, Donna Marie and nephew, Scott Johnson. Surviving is his wife, Donna Lee Davis of the home; children, Lisa Marie Neese and husband Steve of Wallburg, Mark Batdorf and wife Bev of Richmond, VA, and John Batdorf and wife Rose of Mt. Holly, PA., Michael Davis of Norfolk, VA, Suzanne Reamer of Richmond, VA, and John Davis of Richmond, VA; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon Johnson; two brothers, Robin and David Davis; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patti and Andy Kotrick, Joe and Cheryl Bailey, and Malita and Scott Johnson; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. A private service will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
