John 'Wilburn' Crews

Mr. John Wilburn Crews, 75, passed away at his home with his family by his side on May 11, 2011. He was born in Forsyth Co. to the late John Sidney Crews and Betty Merritt Crews. Wilburn retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. with 20 years of service. He enjoyed farming and driving his classic cars. Wilburn was a member and former deacon of Red Bank Missionary Baptist Church in Germanton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a nephew, Christopher Crews. Wilburn is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Patsy Marshall Crews, one son, Randall Crews (Kimberly) of Rural Hall, one daughter, Beverly Crews of Rural Hall and four grandsons, Jonathan Crews (Ashley) of Winston-Salem, Edward Crews of Rural Hall, Justin Sprinkle of Rural Hall and Mark Sprinkle of Rural Hall. He is also survived by two sisters, Virginia Smith and Betty Parrish both of Rural Hall, three brothers, Shirley Ray Crews (Juanita) of Walkertown, Howard Crews of Germanton and Tony Crews (Pattie) of Germanton and a sister-in-law, Shirley Marshall Felton of Carrollton, TX. Funeral services for Wilburn will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Red Bank Missionary Baptist Church in Germanton with Rev. Gary Sanders and Rev. Paul Dean officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 this evening May 13, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
