John Durward Caston

Mr. John Durward Caston, 52, of Charlotte, formerly of Winston-Salem, died Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. He was born April 30, 1964 in Forsyth County to Bryan D. Caston, Sr. and Miriam Johnson Caston. Mr. Caston was a member of Konnoak Hills United Methodist Church, was an Eagle Scout and a 1982 graduate of Parkland High School. He graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 1986 with a BS Degree in Business Administration. He also graduated Sumna Cum Laude from UNC Charlotte in 1994 with a BA Degree in Computer Science. He was a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honorary Society at UNC Charlotte. John valued family and enjoyed playing guitar, live music, cycling, fishing and cooking. John was a kind, quiet, sincere and devoted soul. He was also a devout Tar Hill fan. Survivors include his parents; one sister, Sharon McDow (Earl); and two brothers, Bryan D. Caston, Jr. (Robin) and David Caston (Ginger). A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 7, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Konnoak Hills United Methodist Church with Pastor Ron Perry officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall of the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Konnoak Hills United Methodist Church, 430 Weisner Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27127. The arrangements are by Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek).
