John Henry Calhoun

Kernersville - Mr. John Henry Calhoun, 85, died Friday, July 29, 2011 at Westchester Manor in High Point. He was born June 16, 1926 in Stokes County to the late Claude Walter and Jettie Elizabeth Keaton Calhoun Chapman. Mr. Calhoun served in U.S Army and was in the 82nd Airborne, Glider Division, He was an Elder of the Primitive Baptist Church. John was preceded in death by his loving wife, Evelyn Calhoun and a brother, Cleo Calhoun. Surviving are; three sons, Michael and wife Charlene of High Point, Johnny and wife Lynn of Kernersville ,and Jeffery and wife Ann of Kernersville. Five grandchildren, Tracy Hall and husband Ken, Connie Dillard and husband Larry, April Wilson, Christina Gunton and husband Paul, and Gabriel Sears, seven great-grand children, Cassidy Rae Dillard, Katlyn Ann Dillard, Marty Blake Wilson, Zachary James Wilson, Blake Dillon Wilson Madison Gunton, and Ryan Sears, two sisters, Katherine Mabe, and Louise Hefflin, one brother, Lewis Calhoun. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday August 1, 2011 by Elder Rodney Marshall and Elder Scotty Marshall at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. Burial will follow in Bunker Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM at the funeral home and at all other times at the home of Johnny Calhoun, Sunday evening, July 31, 2011.
