Mr. John Thurman ""Jay"" Brady Jr., 49, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born in Forsyth County on October 3, 1961 the son of John T. Brady Sr. and Nellie B. Brady. Jay loved working outside in the yard, watching sports on television and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by three sisters; Peggy B. Reed, Carolyn A. Brady and Kathy A. de Bogdan; a nephew, John Andre de Bogdan and long-time companion, Karan Jones. Jay is survived by his loving parents, John Sr. and Nellie B. Brady of King, his devoted sister, Karen Brady Hill; his nieces, Dawn D. Fransico (James) and Tammy T. Reed; his great niece, Elaine ""Lanie"" Reed and a brother-in-law, Jim Reed. He is also survived by Karan's children, who Jay loved as they loved him, Michelle, Kara and Teddy Lee and special friend, Henry L. Hyatt, Jr. A service to celebrate Jay's life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Dr. Truman Dunn officiating. The family will receive friends directly following the service at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made in Jay's honor for medical and funeral expenses to: 517 Mountain Brook Drive, King, NC 27021.
