John David Bracken

Mr. John David Bracken, 86, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Village Care of King. He was born May 28, 1938, in Forsyth County, NC to the late Robert Clay Bracken and Treva Forbus Bracken. John served in the Air Force from 1956 until 1960. He was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church where he served as an usher and a choir member. John loved his family and always wanted them to be around. In addition, he took pride in taking care of his nieces and nephews. John was known for being a great woodworker, in which he took his time to perfect craft. In addition, he loved his cat, Sheba. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his three brothers, Arnold Gray Bracken, Thomas Lee Bracken, and Cecil Owen Bracken; and one sister, Brenda Wolfe. He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Danny Bracken, Lanny Bracken (Kathy) Dianne Ziglar (Mark), Scott Bracken (Cindy), Tanya Oxendine (David), Terri Browder, Robbie Bracken, Gregory Bracken, and Karen Wolfe; and numerous extended family. A funeral service will be conducted 6pm Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Pastor Greg Hall officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
