Joe Wagoner

Mr. Joe Allen Wagoner, 83, passed away Friday, December 29, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born November 23, 1934 in Yadkin County, to the late Silas Wilburn Wagoner and Alta Mae Mackie Wagoner. Joe was an avid fisherman and NASCAR fan. He worked for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company for 30 years. Joe also was a member of Faith Baptist Church for 25 years of his life. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Carol Wagoner; his son, Allen Wagoner (Lynn); three daughters: Laura Mathis (Kenneth), Karen Matthews (Ryan), and Donna Johnson (Junior); six grandchildren: Keith, Adam, Sasha, Brianna, Brandon, Deacon; his two best friends, Fred Vaden and Paul Hooker; and his beloved dog, Molly. A funeral service will be conducted 1:00 PM Monday, January 1, 2018 at Faith Baptist Church in Westfield, NC. The family will be receiving friends from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 1110 Taylor Road, Westfield, NC 27053.
