Joe Daniel Craver, Sr.

KERNERSVILLE - Mr. Joe Daniel Craver, Sr, 92, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015.
He was born October 13, 1922 to Fred and Allie Fine Craver and had made this area his home for his entire life. He was a World War II US Army veteran, serving with the 1st Armored Division in Italy and Germany. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his service during the Anzio Campaign. One of the highlights of his life was his trip with his sons for a military tour of Italy. He was a retired employee of Sealtest Dairy in Winston-Salem, with over 35 years of service. He was a member of Saints Delight Primitive Baptist Church in Sedge Garden. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dorothy Poole; and brothers, Howard ""Dink"" Craver, R.C. Craver, Wade Craver, and Bill Craver.
On March 15, 1946, he married the former Bonnie Lynn Beeson, who survives of the home. Also surviving are his sons, Dan Craver of Concord, NC, Bradd Craver and wife Janet; grandsons, Austin and Andrew Craver of Midway, NC; sisters, Faye Kanoy and Corrine Saintsing; brothers, Tony Craver and wife Midge, Donald Craver and wife Faye, Gary Craver and wife Jane, and Ted Craver and wife Sari.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at Saint's Delight Primitive Baptist Church with Elder David M. Hogan and Reverend Anthony Craver officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 12, from 6:00 -8:00 pm at Hayworth- Miller Kernersville Chapel (141 Smith-Edwards Road).
