JoAnn Liddick

JoAnn Liddick was beloved.  She was born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania on January 24, 1936, to Joe and Wanda.  She was married to David Liddick, who preceded her in death.  She is survived by two daughters, Kathy and Marcy.  JoAnn was blessed with a granddaughter, Brittany; and 4 great-grandsons, Chase, Aden, Thomas, and Zachary.  She also has two surviving sisters, Patty and Pam; as well as nieces and nephews.

JoAnn was an R.N. with a degree from Duquesne University.  She worked as a staffing manager for temporary nurses in six states.  Her final job, and one she truly enjoyed, was as a scheduling secretary for York County Museum in South Carolina.  JoAnn was well traveled: across the United States, throughout Europe, China, Japan, Africa.  Her trip to Africa was the trip of a lifetime and the memories always brought her joy.

JoAnn was a gourmet cook specializing in family Italian recipes, a great editor, an accomplished piano player, a talented seamstress, loved ballet, theatre, opera, most especially Andrea Bocelli, and was a lifelong avid reader.  She followed current events and was always well informed.  She was in three book clubs, a foreign policy discussion group, and a Rock Hill Woman’s club by the name of Politeia, until a stroke in 2016 changed her life.  JoAnn resided with her daughter Kathy for five years until finally moving to a facility for the final two years of her life.

JoAnn was, most importantly, well loved.  Her family was fortunate to have such a beautiful soul nurture them through their joys and sorrows.  She made friends until her final days.  JoAnn leaves behind an embarrassment of riches in the love bestowed on her by her family and the multitude of friends she made throughout her life.  We are all richer for her love.  She will be missed and well-remembered.
