Joann Hester

Mrs. Joann Willard Hester, 85, passed away peacefully at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home on February 15, 2023. Joann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and most recently great-grandmother. Joann was one of the nurses to help establish the first Coronary Care Unit at Forsyth Memorial Hospital, and her passion for nursing and caretaking extended throughout her personal life as well. She was an avid church member and very involved in the Women’s ministries at Jefferson Christian Church. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her, but we are grateful that she has be reunited with her husband, Herman Hester in the presence of our Savior. She is survived by her two children, Kathy Hege (Tim) and Benny Hester (Twinkle); three grandchildren, Kortney, Katie, and Devan; and three great-grandchildren, Norah, Finleigh, and Dante. There will be no formal services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jefferson Christian Church- Lydia Circle, Jefferson Christian Church Cemetery Fund, or to Trellis Supportive Care, Attn: Finance, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC, 27103.
