Joan Willard

Mrs. JoAn Harper Watkins Willard, 86, of Winston-Salem passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born on January 20, 1932 in Forsyth County to B. H. “Jack” Watkins and Irene Heggie Watkins. Mrs. Willard grew up in Southside Baptist Church; was married in Waughtown Baptist Church and was a member of Griffith Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Hamilton “Bill” Willard; son, Jimmy Willard; and brother, Gene Watkins.Surviving to cherish her memory are three sons, Mike Willard, David Willard and wife Jane, Daniel Willard; one daughter, Bonnie Clements and husband Buz; seven grandchildren, Melissa Edwards, Megan Sargalis, Annabeth Jackson, Bailey Willard, Zac Willard, Breanne Blackmon, Bradley Clements; four great grandchildren, (and one on the way). A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Bobby Vaughan and Rev. Tony Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home.
